About The One World Orchestra
In 2009 jazz composer Paul Busby was commissioned by the long standing Watermill Jazz Club, Dorking, to write a suite taking themes from the area. He formed a big band for the first performance in 2010. It was such a success and Paul such an untiring engine of musical invention that he was spurred on to write three more suites.
Geography and the theme of humanity being a significant influence, Paul went on to compose a Brighton Suite, an East Sussex Suite and finally his One World Jazz Suite. In 2016 he retired inviting the those in the band to take over. So it is that in 2016 we relaunch as The One World Orchestra - a title Paul wholeheartedly endorses.
